South Carolina House Approves "Eartha Kitt Day" 02/09/11

The South Carolina House approved a proposal on February 1st to make Jan. 17 "Eartha Kitt Day" in the actress's native state.

The late actress and singer, best known for her hit song "Santa Baby" and for her role as Catwoman in the 1960s Batman series, grew up in small town called North on January 17th, 1927.

Kitt died on December 25, 2008.
